Hi,

I am Harish S Rao, based out of Bengaluru in India. I developed interest in photography in 2004. I bought my first semi serious camera in 2005 a Canon Powershot G5. But most of the times I used to shoot in Auto mode and did not understand anything about the other settings. 

My first DSLR was a Canon T5 with a 18-55mm kit lens. I started to understand about photography, composition, light, processing through the wonderful training videos on B&H and Adorama websites and going through work of Michael Melford the accomplished Nat Geo photographer.

I attended a photography course at Bengaluru School of Arts and Photography (B.S.O.A.P.) in 2012 where I learned about the camera nuances from Shri Anand Sharan and had the opportunity to listen to Late Shri T N Perumal who was the guest speaker for our batch. I got inspired by Shri TNP’s talk and decided to pursue this art seriously. I invested on my first full frame camera a Canon 5d Mark II , a macro and a 100-400 telescopic lens. 

My true learning on the field came after my introduction to Shri Amar Bhaskar and Murali Santhanam with whom I used to go on local photo shoots. very soon Amar and Murali included me into  a group called Vismaya (vismayaforcause.org ) which is group of six like minded software professionals. We are a team of photography enthusiasts who have set ourselves on a mission of lending a helping hand to the ones in need using our photographs. Being with this group has helped me improve my photography skills under the mentorship of the other accomplished photographers in the group. Now I am proud to be an integral part of this group and we go on several photog travels, sell our pictures  and generate funds that we donate to organisations where we can help. 

I believe that if I can inspire the viewers of my pictures,  so much so  that they want to physically visit  the place then I would have done my job. Through this website it is my attempt to provide a virtual tour of archeology, nature and wildlife destinations like Belur, Rajasthan, Munnar and wildlife destinations through my photographs so that I can motivate you to visit those places.
